Field Report = Säve is a joint civil/military field with excellent air traffic provided by the latter. Although H24 it reverts to AFISO status from 1 hr after sunset to 0700 local.

There is a SEK 700 (£55) surcharge for landing within the AFISO times.

International landing fee came to about £14 but they didn't charge me for four local flights. Parking (even on the grass) was £6-50 per 24hr which I thought was a little steep.

Fuel was incredibly cheap at about 36p/litre.

Local flying was wonderful with the myriad of islands just off the coast and easy from a navigational and air traffic point of view.

It's a long way at 7.5 hours flying from the southern UK at 100kts but well worth the effort.
