Dieppe    LFAB

Date of Visit = July 00.

Pilot: = Howard Gold

e-mail = pilot-h@higher.flyer.co.uk

Field Report = The manager of the airfield - Monsieur Gérard Stephan, is very helpful and welcoming. He can organise you a taxi, and any other requirements.

(I have also heard that there is a restaurant "la rose des vents" tél 02 35 84 14 43 which will collect you from the airport and deposit you back after your meal. I have not been there myself)

Dieppe, city of Art and History, has many attractions. The quarter of the Ilot Sainte-Catherine, which has been restored in classic style, the churches of Saint-Jaques and Saint-Remy, the Chateau-Museum, a castle which now houses the most remarkable collection of carved Ivory in Europe, and the Cite de la Mer, a fantastic new marine and nautical exhibition, on 3 floors.

Add to that the attractions of a working fishing port, a marina, pavement cafes, a vibrant shopping centre (with the opportunity to stock up with wine, of course) and a long promenade along the beach, and you can start to see why Dieppe is called the "City of many charms"
