Le Ravissement, South-West France

Only three and a half hours by plane from the south coast of England, in the South West of France, is a very pilot friendly and hospitable Desirable Destination!

Fly into Villeneuve-Sur-Lot (LFCW) airfield, known locally as Roge, a typically small and friendly local airfield, with an 800 metre metal runway with fuel available. The CFI will probably not talk to you on the RT, so "see and be seen" is the motto here. There is free parking, and you will not be charged a landing fee. It is then only a fifteen minute drive to our quiet and peaceful holiday cottages at Massoules - we can arrange for car hire via our local Europcar depot.

Le Ravissement is a lovely hamlet of four stone cottages, set in three acres of grounds, with a large 12m x 6m solar heated swimming pool, and magnificent views. We are situated in the south west of France, half way between Bordeaux and Toulouse. The lovely thirteenth century medieval town of Penne d'Agenais is only 10 kms away, and the town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot is just 16 kms away. This area of France is known as the Lot et Garonne, and the scenery consists of gentle hills with rivers and lakes, with fields of cereal crops, sunflowers, and sweet-corn. There are plenty of local village markets selling fresh produce, meat, fish, and wines! Visit the wine producers for excellent Cahors wines to take home.

Every cottage has its own bbq and private patio, and there are always plenty of parties and social gatherings going on, helped along with the local wines! We can also offer B&B for weekend visits.

We water ski on the River Lot near to the airfield, and this beautiful wide river is a very good landmark as you come in over Penne D'Agenais to land at Roge.

A very good trip to take whilst here is to fly to Tarbes in the Pyreenes, and have lunch on the airfield. Also, it is not very far to Domme and Sarlat, where the airfield owner will arrange a taxi into town for you. Internet Site = http://www.jennysgites.com
