Field Report = Excellent airfield, with landing fee and 24 hours parking only FFR45. Fuel is available, and they take either VISA or Air BP cards.

The airport is a 30-40 minute walk to the town, but the architecture en-route is nothing to write home about! That siad, the town itself is well worth a visit!

We stayed in the Mercure hotel - very nice, with pool etc. Cost approx FFR550 for a double room.

For food, either eat in the hotel, or walk across the bridge, where there are several excellent eateries; we ate in the Le Saint-Lauren restaurant, and enjoyed the views of the bridge, river and townscape of Macon fromt the terrace ;-) Apparantly Mitterand and Gorbachov ate there too ...

You can also have lunch at the Maison des Vins - very pleasant, and a source of some excellent wines!
