Dinard    LFRD |
    Date of Visit = July 99. Pilot: = Howard Gold e-mail = pilot-h@higher.flyer.co.uk
Field Report = Dinard is the first customs field inbound from the Channel Islands, which makes stopping at Jersey or Guernsey for cheap fuel a worthwhile possibility. You approach from the north , passing to the west of Mont St Michael (beware there are overflying restrictions on this obvious landmark) Dinard has an excellent radar service - whether you arrive IFR or VFR (in which case ensure you know the Visual Reporting Points).
Landing fees for a C310 were 106 Francs. Fuel was 7.46FF/Litre. If you require a taxi, I recommend Joseph Taxi Services - 02 99 46 41 61 (they have several 6 seat vehicles available.) The town of Dinard is one side of the Rance Estuary, and the walled "Pirate's Village" of St Malo is across the bay. You can take a water taxi from one side to the other. Dinard has a Casino, and a beach which is very family orientated, and has a the feel of an English seaside resort. We did not have time to cross to St Malo, perhaps another day...
