28/29 April 2001

28/29 avril 2001

This is the second combined fly-in between the British Flyer List and the French Pilotlist, and the first on British soil. The venue is Duxford, our premier aviation museum.

The fly-in is dedicated to the memory of Air Vice-Marshal Johnnie Johnson, the RAF's highest-scoring WW2 fighter ace, who died on January 30 aged 85.

It will be a two day event, and the order of ceremonies is as follows:

Arrivals will take place during the morning on Saturday, On arrival, landing fees and museum entrance is paid at the tower. Tell them you are part of the Cross Channel Fly-in to qualify for reduced prices - then please come and meet us in the Concorde Room.

On Saturday afternoon there will be time to wander around the main museum. Any listers (English or French) who have interesting aircraft and who are able to offer flights would, no doubt, be particularly well received. All attendees will be advised NOT to visit the new (and separate) American Air Force Museum during the Saturday, because:-

On the Saturday evening, at 18:00 after the Museum is closed to the public, we will have our own private guided tour of the new American Airforce Museum!

Then at 19:30 meet for a buffet dinner on the Saturday evening in the Airfield Cafe (which is being re-furbished to a high standard to become the main airfield restaurant)

The prices are as follows:

Half-price landing fees for all Flyer Listers and Colibri aircraft:
£6.70 (£8.50 Twins) - no charge for overnight parking.

Special price museum tickets: £5 for the whole weekend.

Private tour of the American Air Museum: £8

Buffet Dinner - Two courses and coffee: £10 (see menu at the bottom of this page)

As you can see, this promises to be something special. A fly-in at our premier aviation museum, and an evening of camerarderie and good food. Please go to the registration page, and register for the fly-in (and the Tour and Buffet Dinner) as required:

Departures on Sunday are at your own pace, you can stay until 18:00 if you like!
